Denise Gower

Denise Gower has 20 years of experience in senior level marketing, event management and business development roles across both B2B and B2C industries, including international financial services, tourism and real estate development. Denise has developed specialised skill sets in both traditional and digital communications, including strategic planning, public relations, brand development and inbound marketing. Denise is the founder and managing director of Fountainhead Business Development; an integrated marketing communications agency based in the Cayman Islands, working with some of Cayman’s largest brands and other clients around the region.

Adrian Lynch
Aon Risk Solutions

Adrian was appointed the Managing Director of Aon Insurance Managers (Cayman) Ltd. in March, 2014. Prior to joining Aon Cayman, Adrian spent seven years as the CEO of a Private Client Advisory group, offering Private Placement Life Insurance structures.

He has overall management responsibilities for Aon’s captive insurance operations in the Cayman Islands.

Adrian is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute Dublin. He is also a Corporate Governance graduate of the University College Dublin Smurfit Business School 2008 and a member of the Irish Institute of Directors. He has served as a Non-Executive Director on a number of Boards in Ireland in the last number of years.

Melisa Johnson

Melisa graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting (1999). Melisa has over fifteen years of experience in the insurance industry with specialist knowledge and expertise in the surety, property and casualty, and life and annuity sectors. She has extensive multi-jurisdictional experience in the captive insurance industry, having worked in the British Virgin Islands, Barbados, Cayman and Washington DC. Melisa’s background includes wealth management, company management in the property and casualty, life and annuity sectors, as well as surety underwriting. Melisa has managed a variety of captive structures and worked in all aspects of international captive management, from the initial stages of obtaining regulatory approval to the liquidation of captive companies. Melisa resides in the Cayman Islands.

Derek Stenson

Derek has extensive experience advising a wide range of international financial and insurance institutions on all aspects of applicable laws and regulation. Derek also has particular expertise advising on repackagings and collateralized loan obligations, corporate finance, fund finance, M&A transactions, portfolio transfers, restructurings, stock exchange listings, mergers, migrations, contractual negotiations and regulatory and compliance matters.

Rob Leadbetter

Rob joined USA Risk Group in 2005 as Vice President in the Cayman office and in 2017 he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Cayman and British Virgin Islands operations. In this role, Rob manages both offices and serves as the primary contact for Cayman clients and the Insurance Department of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority. Rob holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Open University of British Columbia and has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Canada since 2001. Rob is a member of the Cayman Islands Society of Public Accountants and past chairman of the Insurance Managers Association of Cayman.

Martin Cooke
Hyperion Risk Solutions

Martin provides niche expertise in the formation and ongoing administration of captive insurance vehicles. He also is responsible for the broking of diverse risks from professional indemnity insurance to directors and officers insurance for fund structures, placement of transactional liability insurance, national catastrophe coverage, to the structuring of large nationwide group health insurance plans and life insurance for HNW’s.

He is responsible for the management of Hyperion’s operations. He is a key client liaison officer and primary point of contact for the insurance, reinsurance and fronting carriers Hyperion works with, whilst establishing significant expansion across the Caribbean region for both entities.

Martin has represented the BVI Insurance sector at a number of international industry events, and is a past General Secretary and Treasurer for the British Virgin Islands Football Association, and current (Acting) Director of National Programs for the Cayman Islands Football Association.
